Hi. My name is Art and I’d been thinking about getting one of these Kindle’s for a while now, but always waited because I kept telling myself I didn’t need it.
Two things prompted me to buy one, just a few weeks ago.
1. I am going overseas for about 5 months and was thinking about all the books I’d need to take in order to have reading material in English while I am gone. After I pulled all the books out of my closet and bookcases that I wanted to take, it was around 15 books! Geeze, I thought, I can’t haul that many books overseas… I’ll have to pay $100 just for the extra suitcase, let alone lugging all those suitcases around.
That was my first motivation. With the Kindle I can load as many books as I want and its just one little ebook reader that fits into my carry-on. Or I can carry it in my hands or put it into a jacket pocket. It’s a whole library in one little, lightweight device.
2. Amazon just recently made a change to their Kindle’s and now you can buy books while you are overseas (depending on the country you are in). In other words, if I’m in a foreign country and want to get a new book… all I have to do is visit the Kindle Store right from my own Kindle and download whatever book I want and Presto! the book appears on my Kindle.
It was also comforting to me that Amazon lowered the price of the Kindle ebook reader just a few weeks ago.
So I finally broke down and bought one, and guess what? I have no regrets about getting it. I genuinely love the thing. Its lived up to its hype and is even better than I though it would be.
If you decide to ‘take the plunge’ you will like it too. Convenience has now been brought to the book world.
